Delegates, We would like to welcome You to the 12th edition of Lublin Model United Nations, which will take place on 6 – 8 December 2017. This year’s LubMUN will consist of 5 committees and each of them will discuss important issues that are a matter of concern of the United Nations. The Security Council will be debating on the civil war in Syria, whereas the International Court of Justice will be disputing over the status of use of the waters of the Silala and will address the issue of certain Iranian assets. The Economic and Social Council is going to discuss the European migrant crisis and problem of food waste, the Human Rights Council will endeavour to solve the problem of modern slavery as well as legal prosecution of LGBTQ people. Last but not least, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime is going to debate over the problem of the abuse of opioids and opiates and will discuss the influence of growing number of immigrants on the crime rate.
